Just wanted to share one of the ways I was truly blessed by a bible study from tonight:
Luke 9:23 Then He said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
This is so true about having to take up your cross DAILY because the devil will use his many tactics of deception to try and make you feel as a Christian that you are still bound by your sin(every morning the Devil tries to work and steal my joy this way). But you are not! You are freed, the price has been paid for every last one of your sins, even the ones you have not committed yet.
By taking up your cross every day and following Jesus you can look forward to each day with a clean slate, sin free. When you carry the cross, the position of the cross on your back is very significant, not only is it the least burdening position to hold something as heavy as a cross but it symbolizes (to me) your sins and all of the worldy ways/things are in the past and your eyes are now on the heavenly. No longer do you have to let sin be in the forefront blocking you from the truth.
